Terms of service

Last updated 15 July 2026. Draft pending legal review before paid launch.

1. What the service is

ukbankconv is a data conversion utility. It converts supported digital UK bank statement PDFs into CSV or Excel files inside your browser and checks the result against the statement’s own balances. It is not accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for professional review of financial records.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Only convert documents you are lawfully entitled to process, whether as the account holder or with proper authority (for example as a bookkeeper engaged by a client).
  • Review output before relying on it. Verification statuses reflect deterministic arithmetic checks, not a guarantee that the underlying statement is genuine or that output fits your specific accounting treatment.
  • Keep your account credentials secure and do not share paid access.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for other users’ data (there is none of yours on it either), or misrepresent its output as bank-issued documents.

3. Credits and payments

Export credits are purchased in packs, priced as shown at checkout, processed by Stripe. Credits never expire and are consumed per document export as described on the pricing page. Failed local exports restore the reserved credit automatically. Refunds are handled per the refunds policy.

4. Service changes and availability

Supported bank layouts can change: banks alter their formats, and a layout that falls below our certification thresholds is disabled rather than allowed to guess. We aim for the converter to be available continuously but do not warrant uninterrupted service. Because conversion runs locally, a downloaded page can often finish work in progress even during an outage.

5. Intellectual property and trademarks

The service, its parsers, and its content are ours or our licensors’. Your statements and your exported files are yours; we claim no rights over them and never possess them. Bank and software names (Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest, Monzo, Starling, Revolut, first direct, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent) are their owners’ trademarks, used only to identify compatibility; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that, the service is provided as described and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on output that the product itself labelled unverified, unreconciled, or unsupported, or from documents outside the certified scope.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. Contact: support@ukbankconv.com.
